Why Write?

I can't believe that it has been almost a year since the release of my first book!

Upon the complete release of the Heaven's Mind a Trilogy series in April 2017, many readers, fans, and friends alike have asked the question, ‘What made you decide to write (a book)?”

If you knew me, you would know that I have always been somewhat of a philosopher, add to that a loquacious personality, diverse experiences, ingenuity, commitment, and courage; the resulting end is an author.

Those who don't know me personally, but instead through social media or performing would know that I enjoy sharing knowledge, encouragement, and opportunities to grow intellectually and spiritually through all forms of communication. Be it singing, poetry, or talking, IAM compelled to share!

"Heaven’s Mind a Trilogy, began as my autobiography in 2006. However, I was never able to get beyond the age of five. Upon overcoming major life changes, between the years 2008 and 2013, I was finally able to continue writing. The title was initially “Wide is the Gate”, then “Narrow is the Gate”, then “The Mind of Heaven”. The main character was originally Christian and her three friends were Faith, Hope, and Charity. But once the title changed to “The Mind of Heaven”, so did the character names (Heaven, Cherish, Lindsey, and Haley). Additionally, what originated as a One Hit Wonder (I only planned to write one book), quickly progressed into three short novelettes; hence 1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd testaments. With greater than 60,000 words, together, the testaments form the basis for a novel. It was at this juncture that the final title advanced to Heaven’s Mind a Trilogy. As the character’s evolved, so did my thoughts. My mind literally opened to the character’s backstories (as if they revealed them to me themselves) which will serve as the basis for many of the upcoming books.

Again, very loosely based on my life (especially in the beginning), the characters and the book took on a life of its own. I would swear that I peeked or tapped into the secret lives of many boys and girls, men and women, all over the world. Spirits past, present, and future have discovered in me an open, willing, and abled vessel through whom they will share their stories with the world.

If I were to say there is a goal to my writing these novelettes, it would be to reintroduce the world to the magnificence of fanaticism, realism, dualism, expressionism, spiritualism, and finally transformationalism.

The reader will see themselves, lose themselves, discover themselves, and then free themselves from a perceived reality, not of their own making. That of which is nothing more than an illusion. Then they will begin to transform themselves and their lives, by creating their own realities.

The Trilogy along with the characters and storylines which manifested led to the subsequential launch of Heaven's Mind Book Series, Transformational Literature.

My desire is to transform minds one book at a time!
